I have been lucky enough to teach many different courses here at Seneca, including Discover Destinations 1, Professional Presentation Skills, Service Leadership, Tourism Operations, Global Tour Guiding Travel Management and Professional Internship however my favourite subject that I have taught for many semesters is Global Cruise Specialist.
I really enjoy the students and also learning from them and about them. Having many years of experience in the Travel Industry, I love being able to bring real life experiences into the lessons I teach and making it relevant, exciting and attainable.
Having graduated from a Hospitality Administration and Services/Travel and Tourism program myself, I have been lucky enough to have had my career be in the industry I love. I began working in a Call Centre for a tour operator and then to other departments at that same company, including working as a Destination Representative in Mexico for a year - what an experience! However when I was first introduced to cruising, my career path changed - for the best way possible. I first worked for well-known tour operators who sold cruise lines but then had the opportunity to work directly as a Business Development Manager for a few cruise lines over the years (Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, MSC Cruises) and have loved every minute of it!
It is not possible to have just one favourite destination as I have had a chance through business or personal travel to have been to many places. Also, having spent the majority of my career in the cruise industry, that has made it easy to have added to my list - if only for a day!
