The SoHT Work Placement/Internship Process for TIS200
This webpage helps in making you aware of the process and procedures for the successful completion of TIS200: Professional Internship.

Enrol into TIS200, complete the documents shown on the important links and documents section of this page and work in a paid internship for a minimum of 220 hours within the semester. Your potential employer must complete all forms, be approved by the Polytechnic, and have the applicable insurance coverage.
Seneca Polytechnic does not accept home-based positions.

SOHT PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP PROCESS
Pre-Approval Process
Student identifies an employer for their Professional Internship.
Student provides the employer with the Employer Agreement Form and asks them to complete and sign the form. Student must have a copy of this form to be uploaded to the Online Intake Form.
Student completes the online intake form (SOHT Intake Form) and attaches their completed Employer Agreement Form

After downloading and printing the form, kindly request that your employer complete and sign it.
Once the form is signed, please complete our online intake form to request approval for the requested action. This form will help us verify the provided information and ensure that we can proceed with your request in a timely and efficient manner. This is where you will be able to upload the completed form.
Vet Job & Check Insurance Coverage
Seneca properly vets employers to ensure their legitimacy.
Students will receive a status of their submission or confirmation by email from SenecaSoHTEmployerInfo@senecapolytechnic.ca regarding their submission.
Student must provide a copy of the approval email to show that their request has been approved.
International Students:
International students require a valid Co-op Work Permit to complete the Optional Co-Op with WIL or the Professional Internship.
If you require a letter to apply for your permit, please click the button below and fill out the necessary details.
Domestic Students:
Domestic students travelling out of province for a work experience including a co-op and work term must purchase Seneca’s Travel/Medical Insurance to cover basic health care needs.
