TIS200 – Professional Internship
General Information and Frequently Asked Questions
As part of your GTB/TTO/TIS program credit hours, you will complete a minimum of 220 hours of paid field placement in the third semester (TIS200 – Professional Internship).
You'll receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all first (TTO) or third (GTB/TIS) semester subjects before accepting a work placement position.

Probably not, however, your employer must still complete the required paperwork and must be vetted. Employer Agreement Form and SOHT SOHT Work Placement Employer Pre-Approval Intake Form (GTB/TIS/TTO) must be submitted. Please check the work placement requirements.

No. All work placements must be physically completed in Canada.

No. You must be paid for all work placements. As an assignment requirement in TIS200, you will be asked to provide copies of your pay stub from your employer.

Yes! It may be necessary for you to complete your September-December courses online, depending on your situation.

If all the paperwork is filled out correctly, the process can be quick (1-2 weeks). If the paperwork is incomplete, it will be returned to you, and you will need to resubmit.

Yes, but you are responsible to pay course fees.
